Project Description

The Story of Ivanko Pryshliak

Meet Ivanko Pryshliak, a 7-year-old boy who we adopted from a shelter when he was just 3 years old. When we first met Ivanko, he was a shell of a child, unable to speak, laugh, or cry. He showed no emotion and barely ate. It was as if he had given up on life. But now, as he enters second grade, Ivanko has come alive. He is full of life, loves to play and explore, and dreams of owning a tractor. His progress has been amazing, and we are so proud of him.

But now, as he enters second grade, Ivanko has come alive. He is full of life, loves to play and explore, and dreams of owning a tractor. His progress has been amazing, and we are so proud of him.

However, Ivanko’s story takes a heartbreaking turn. He came to us for temporary accommodation while his mother was in prison. In January of this year, she was released from prison, but instead of taking care of her child, she abandoned him. Our family has now become Ivanko’s permanent home, and while we are grateful to have him, our hearts ache for the pain and loss he has endured.
