Project Description

Smolin  Family 2014

We feel love and joy, and gratitude to God for the blessings that He has continued to give us. He has consistently and without fail provided for us in every possible way. The year’s end always brings with it a tremendous sense of accomplishment.  So many things have been accomplished this year!

Thanks to everyone who’s been praying and who has supported us this year; it’s been surreal to have so much support and love.

On behalf of Open Door Foundation in Ukraine, We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and Happy New Year!!!!

August 2014 – USA- Karpyk Family

We had an opportunity to be able to help our dear friends Veronika and Oleg Karpyk. Vitaliy flew to America with the Karpyk family to seek treatment for their little angel Zlata. Zlata had two surgeries and was undergoing radiation in Seattle Children’s Hospital.

God had been overseeing, protecting, guiding and providing for Karpyk’s throughout the journey. All the glory and honor belongs to God!

Moldova Medical Outreach– April

What a powerful opportunity to see, both, professional skills and spiritual gifts of the body of Christ at work on a team. We partnered with GHO Global Health Outreach with Christian Medical and Dental Associations and World Team Moldova; it was a blessing to be able to assist them in the medical outreach.

Kingdom Camp– July

We had a fantastic time at the Kingdom Camp! We were blessed to be part of what God is doing in the children’s lives. We had around 110 kids at the camp. English lessons were remarkable. It was marvelous to see the kids push themselves and challenge themselves and yet enjoy the English the language.

Dental Ministry – September

Like always we are so overjoyed to have Dr. Marvin Nelson come to Ukraine and serve the children and people in the Ternopil Region.  Dr. Nelson is extremely knowledgeable with over 30 years in dentistry.

Also, this year we were blessed to be able to have Marta Card come and be part of the dental ministry in Ukraine. We are so thankful for her open heart to come to Ukraine and serve others.

 – ATO  Ukraine

As you have heard the situation in Eastern Ukraine is unstable and unpredictable.  Several thousands have been killed. Many hundreds more have been killed during the recent “cease fire”.  In the Luhansk and Donetsk regions in the Eastern Ukraine, many people are living without heat, electricity, water and gas. With winter upon us, the situation for those in the Southeastern region of Ukraine is about to get very rough.  If the fighting and insecurity of the situation was not enough, the added cold of a Ukrainian winter only serves to make a bad situation worse.

December  – Christmas for Orphans

This year about 600 children celebrated Christmas with us, thank you to everyone who was part of this astonishing program. We visited 5 orphanages, 1 handicap orphanage/school and a church on Dovzhenka. We preformed a Christmas skit, sang songs, read poems, played games, had small groups, photo shoot, cotton candy and presents!

Looking at the children faces when they were watching the Christmas skits was spectacular! All the children thanked us for giving them a wonderful Christmas this year.

How you can get involved!
